Braids are beautiful, though sometimes finding ways to style them can be pain. I, for one, am not a hair stylist and don’t enjoy spending too much time messing with my hair. Luckily, because braids are so unique, their beauty often speaks for itself and not much styling is required.
But once in a while it’s nice to do something different and achieve a new look, so today I’ve gathered my seven favorite (easy) styles for braids in hopes of helping to ease your braid styling baffles.
1. the boho braid headband
I love this boho-chic look and it’s incredibly simple. Just grab a braid from the mid-back of your head and wrap it around the front of your head; secure it in place with a bobby pin and bam, you’re done.
2. the dramatic side part
This is another super simple style. You may have seen Solange Knowels (my style icon) rocking this look with her larger box braids. To embrace the dramatic side part, make like Willow Smith and simply ”whip yo hair” to the side.
3. the side bun
The side bun is very easy to such a classy look. While there are many ways to create a side bun, mine is braid-based. I start with a long braid going to the side and then twist that up and hold it place with a large clip that can be easily hidden.
4. the bee-hive bun
Oh boy. The bee-hive is craaazy. Not exactly an every day look, but certainly a fun and experimental style. Like the side bun, my bee-hive bun is also braid-based. To start, I bend over and let my braids drape over my head. I braid one large braid toward the floor and then twist that braid up into a bun, which sits on top of my head.
5. accessorize: scarves
If you are a woman of color, chances are your scarf is your best friend. Especially at night. Hopefully, you’ve also discovered the greatness of day-time scarf wearing as well! They make for a QUICK and versatile way add some flair to your hair.
6. accessorize: headbands
Where would I be without my headbands? I’m sure you all know how the wear them so I won’t state the obvious, but I will say that you can make a head band out of just about any fabric! If you’ve got old jeans, shirts, shoe straps, sheets, (etc., etc…), make a headband. REUSE and RECYCLE!
7. accessorize: flowers
Real or fake, flowers are a cute way to dress up your braids. Take two seconds to clip them in and you’re good to go.

this is beautiful, thanx
